This site features videos, books and websites with a focus on teen health and social issues and substance abuse prevention. With an MHLS library card, you can borrow our materials for free from any public library in the five counties in the Mid-Hudson Library System: Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam, and Ulster.

Recommended by teens for teens, our videos, books and website links address areas of concern to teens, their families, educators and agencies serving youth. The research-based RISK AND PROTECTIVE FACTOR PREVENTION FRAMEWORK applies for all materials.

Videos have public performance rights and are useful for teachers in classrooms and workshops, for youth services providers and program leaders, parents, and young adults. They work well to facilitate group discussion and are helpful for student research assignments or presentations. Visit the video and book pages to search our list of high interest topics.

The Health Information Project is funded by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and in part by Dutchess County Government.
