Program Summary |
A bystander can choose to intervene in an incident or to abstain from action. Bullying takes various forms, including ostracism – the ignoring or “banishing” of targeted individuals. Social cliques often engage in this type of bullying. Three vignettes illustrate incidents in which bystanders decline to become involved and an incidence of teasing that escalates into bullying. Group activities investigate the price of silence, bystanders’ responsibilities, rumors, cliques and bullying. |
