About Us

Through Mid-Hudson Library System’s 66 member libraries, the Health Information Project provides books, videos, and websites that focus on teen health, social skills and substance abuse prevention information. Project programs and materials are the result of  funding by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and in part by Dutchess County Government. All Health Information Project resources support the risk and protective factor framework.

TEEN INTERN PROGRAM
What sets the Health Information Project resources apart from other teen-focused information has been the inclusion of teens in the decision-making process. Materials have been chosen based not only on journal reviews, but also on teen reviewer recommendations generated from the Project’s summer Teen Intern Program held at designated MHLS libraries.

The Health Information Project is a Joseph F. Shubert Library Excellence Award Winner.
