Eating Disorders Information for Teens

REQUEST THIS TITLE

Information on all types of eating disorders --statistics on who, why, what age, effects, symptoms. Has brief dictionary-like sections describing health words. Gives healthy suggestions for eating and exercising.

I learned that there is a lot more depth to the anorexia and bulimia disease and there are a lot more eating/fitness disorders common in society today. This book gives full information and is easy to understand--not boring and a pretty quick read.
Ms. Dancamanca, Kinderhook

REQUEST THIS TITLE

Erin makes a website and then accidentally get it published on the school intranet. She says some bad things about her friends on there, and she has to work really hard to win them back. I think the issues were dealt with pretty realistically, especially not writing things about people that you wouldn't want them to find out about.

It was a good book and you can learn valuable lessons about friendship.

The Queen of Cool

The Queen of Cool

REQUEST THIS TITLE

Libby is really popular and has cool friends, nice clothes, easy going parents and everything she could want. But even with all that she is still bored with her life and unhappy. Then she signs up for an "uncool" internship at the zoo and befriends two "nerds." Libby finds herself having to decide between being cool or being happy.

This book reminds me that good friends and simple pleasures are more important than being popular or having a lot of nice things.

So Hard to Say

So Hard to Say

REQUEST THIS TITLE

The book revolves around the life of Frederick and shows it from many different perspectives. It canters around his developing sexuality and how it effects the relationship he has with his close circle of friends.

The book didn't present itself in a realistic manner, and I didn't enjoy the way it bounced from Xio and Frederick's perspective. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because it seemed boring and drawn out at times, it wasn't that suspenseful and the plot was kind of boring as well.
Elisabeth, Kinderhook
